These terms govern your access to and use of Rufus. By creating an account or using our CLI, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Rufus.
The Parties
Who We Are
Rufus is operated by SquidCorp. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these terms refer to SquidCorp. References to "you" or "your" refer to the individual or entity accessing or using our service.
The Service
What Rufus Does
Rufus is a developer tool that tracks AI coding costs in real time. It includes a CLI that collects token usage metadata and a web dashboard where you can review session costs and generate billing summaries.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice for significant changes.
Accounts
Your Account
Registration
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Rufus. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Account termination
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Rules
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:

Use Rufus for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations

Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the service

Abuse the API or CLI in ways that place unreasonable load on our infrastructure

Impersonate another person or entity

Resell or redistribute access to Rufus without our written permission
Pricing
Billing and Plans
Beta period
Rufus is currently free during our public beta. We will notify you before introducing paid plans.
Future paid plans
When paid plans are introduced, pricing will be displayed clearly before you commit to any charge. Subscriptions will renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your billing period.
Refunds
Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us at jeremy@hirerufus.com if you have a billing concern.
Ownership
Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and code in Rufus belong to SquidCorp unless otherwise stated. You retain ownership of any data you bring to the platform.
By using Rufus, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process your usage metadata solely to provide the service.
Limitations
Disclaimers and Liability

Rufus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied

Cost estimates shown in your dashboard are based on public pricing data from AI providers and may not perfectly reflect your actual bills

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service

Our total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim
Jurisdiction
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of France, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Updates
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you by email if the changes are material. Continued use of Rufus after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
